PCD (Principles of Construction Documentation)

This course is a prerequisite to all CSC courses. Successful completion of the PCD course is mandatory to achieve the Certified Technical Representative (CTR), the Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA), and the Certified Specifications Practitioner (CSP) designations. The successful completion of PCD can be credited towards the specification writing experience required to obtain the Registered Specifications Writer (RSW) designation.

There are no sessions currently listed for this course at the Chapter level. Please view www.csc-dcc.info/Education for further information of sessions being offered on-line.

RSW (Registered Specifications Writer) & CSP (Certified Specification Practitioner)

The RSW designation is the highest achievable accreditation which can be obtained by a Specification Writer. The RSW designation will attest to your knowledge of organizing and preparing accurate construction contract documents thereby enhancing your professional credibility through increased confidence placed in your work by your peers, employers and clients.

The CSP designation will show commitment to producing accurate documentation, by setting standards and quality of practice for specification writing through prescribed qualifications, courses and a demonstrated level of competence and ethical practices.

The Specifier 1 & Specifier 2 courses are designed to take the student beyond the concepts introduced in the PCD course and enhance their understanding and ability in the preparation of the project manual/specification.
These courses can be credited towards the specification writing experience required to obtain the RSW designation, and are required to obtain the CSP designation.
