Principles of Construction Documentation (PCD)
Course Description:
The PCD course is an introductory course that will enable
the student to have a better understanding of construction documentation
(specifications, drawings, and schedules), products, bidding procedures,
and contracts. It is also a prerequisite to all the other CSC education
courses.
The course is designed for individuals involved in the
construction industry, who at any point in their career are required to
produce, read, supply products for, or rely on, the project
manual/specification. In other words, it is designed for anyone in construction,
whether they work as a designer, consultant, contractor or supplier.
The focus is to emphasize the relationship that exists
between specifications and drawings, and the role of the industry participants.
Contract documents and the project manual have an intrinsic relationship with
each other, with standard pre-printed contract documents, and with associated
documents; this course explains these relationships.

introduction needed for taking the Specifier (SP) course, and is required to
take the Technical Representative (TR) and Construction Contract Administration
(CCA) courses.***

Course is a prerequisite for the Construction Contract Course
(CCA).***
Course Description:
Gain mastery in Construction Contract Administration with
this specialized course. Tailored for professionals engaged in construction
contract administration, including Contract Administrators, Property Managers,
Architects, Engineers, Contractors and more, this program provides
comprehensive training to navigate the complexities of contractual management.
From understanding legal frameworks to implementing
effective communication strategies, participants will acquire essential skills

industry.

The Technical Representative (TR) course offers an advanced
exploration of contract documents, bidding procedures, product representation,
professionalism, and ethics within the construction industry. Building upon the
foundational knowledge introduced in the Principles of Construction
Documentation (PCD) course, TR provides participants with a deeper
understanding and comprehensive explanation of key concepts.
Tailored for individuals engaged in the supply sector of the
construction industry, including manufacturer representatives, agents, or
distributors of products and equipment, this course equips students with the
expertise needed to navigate complex contractual landscapes and uphold
professional standards.
Completion of the PCD course is a prerequisite for
enrollment in TR, ensuring that participants possess the fundamental knowledge
necessary to maximize their learning experience.

Building upon the foundation laid by the Principles of
Construction Documentation (PCD) course, this course offers a more in-depth
exploration of specialized techniques and skills required for crafting
procurement and contractual requirements across various divisions. From
Division 00 to Divisions 02 49, participants gain valuable insights into
administrative, procedural, and technical specifications crucial for project
success.
With a focus on real-life examples and professional
scenarios, this course provides practical learning experiences that empower
students to navigate complex challenges with confidence.
***This course is a prerequisite to obtaining the Certified
Specification Practitioner (CSP) and Registered Specification Writer (RSW)
designations.***
