About The Presentation:

This presentation will highlight the critical importance of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) in modern building design and construction, offering spec writers insight on how to incorporate IAQ testing into their specifications. We will explore the role of IAQ testing in validating the health of indoor environments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering occupant well-being.

The session will cover:
  • The significance of IAQ in creating healthier, more productive indoor environments.
  • Key parameters tested in IAQ assessments, including pollutants, particulate matter, and ventilation rates.
  • How IAQ testing helps detect potential air quality issues early, preventing long-term health effects and reducing maintenance costs.
  • ASHRAE 62.1, how to use it and how it is referenced in building codes.
  • Master Format section and how to incorporate IAQ into the specification and safe guarding against it being value engineered out.
